We officially landed safe and sound in Nairobi yesterday (7-20) and the team finally got to meet Solomom! After checking into the YMCA, we went to a market and got to try our hand in bargaining for souvenirs. Lunch was good, and dinner at the hostel had some interesting meat, but everyone is still healthy and feeling well!
Today (7-21) we went to a giraffe reserve and got feed and pet giraffes! It was an amazing experience and some of us fed the giraffes with our mouths, resulting in some big slobbery kisses. After that we drove 40km outside the city to help out the Ng'undu community plant Acacia trees in an more rural area where they are building a new hospital. It was a great honor and privilidge to meet these people and partner with them. They were very happy to have us come and it gave us a cool perspective to really see that Jesus is alive and working in other parts of the world!
Thanks for the prayer and for the comments! We're having a great time and we love and miss all you guys!

Great to hear that your trip is off to an amazing start. We're happy you got to meet Solomon and help with a project. Craig, Sue and Katie thanks so much for making this possible. We're praying of all of you.
Love you Lo!
We're proud of you guys. Keep up the great work. Does kissing giraffes count as PDA? I thought we weren't supposed to have any of that on the trip. Praying for you all.
P.S. Craig shoot me an email when you have a moment; I would love any advice on how to make my trip as smooth as possible.
Sure hope you are taking lots of pictures. I can't wait to see the giraffe pics. Thanks for doing this blog, Craig. It is so great to hear about all your adventures. We are continuing to pray that the Lord would work mightily through all of you! Love you.
Sounds Awesome! We're so glad to hear that you've arrived safely and are doing so well!
Becca-
Erika has nobody to fight with. Come home soon, the house is too quiet. Buy us lots of gifts. (lol)
Dad
What is PDA?
This blog is a great idea. Craig, thank you for setting it up. We are able to feel like we are personally involved in your mission. May God touch each of your lives and guide you as you touch the lives of others. I am proud of all of you!
Cody: Tiger, Bear and I miss you! I love you and am so proud of you.
We are supporting you with our thoughts and prayers (and a bit envious that you have this fantastic opportunity to share your beliefs with receptive listeners).
London: Been there, done that! We are looking forward to sharing your photos and refreshing our memories.
Sports News: on Thursday, after four days rest, Barry Bonds swung well and twice cleared the fence (Dodgers vs. Cubs). He is just shy two homers to equal Hank Aaron's record
Also, the Padres and Dodgers are tied for first place in the NL West, but hanging on by the skin of their teeth. They lost last night, but luckily the Dodgers were also beaten by the Mets.
We love you,
Nana & Papa.
PDA stands for "personal display of affection".
Hey Gang,
As you know we're meeting at Griffin's house tomorrow for prayer. I'll have my fella (Maddie's pop) take some pics and we'll send them via Craigs e-mail.
Good going Padres - thanks for the sports update Nana and Papa!
Love to all!
