See You Soon!

We have had a good last few days but I think it is safe to say we are ready to come home and see all of you guys! We had another amazing time at St. Andrews church yesterday where we got a home cooked Kenyan meal for lunch and then got so spend some time in fellowship with some of the other young adults from the church. It is so great to get to see that despite the differences God's love lets us have so much in common with the young people at a church half way across the world.

Sunday night we had the amazing privilidge of eating at a place called the Carnivore. It is a restaurant where they bring around big kebabs of all different kinds of meat to your table, and then slice off a big slab of whatever it is. We had just about everything: pork, chicken, beef, steak, lamb, ribs, ostrich, and all of the different combinations and variations you could think of. It was definitely a great African experience.

Today (Monday 6th) we had the opportunity to help out with the VBS at St. Andrews. Although maybe a little bit different and less organized than we were used to, we still had a great time helping out and getting to play with the kids.

The rest of today and tomorrow we will be packing and debriefing about the trip, making sure that we realize how great of an opportunity it is to be here. We have learned a lot on this trip and so we want to remember it and let it affect the way we live our lives once we get home.

Parents, our flight leaves Nairobi late Tuesday night, and we are scheduled to get in at 1:10 pm at Lax on Wednesday, British Airways flight # 279. Please pray for us as we travel home and we'll see ya soon!

p.s. I tried to upload a new picture but the internet has been giving me fits here. See ya in 2 Days!

Hey Griff!
Was the meat as good as you heard it was going to be? The 'Canivore' sounds as African as you can get. What wild experiences you've had! We can't wait to see you!! We can stop at your restaurant of choice on the drive home...or you can just sleep!! Your choice:-)
We're praying you all safely home and really looking forward to seeing you soon -
love you lots,
Mom, Dad & Lauren

P.S. We're making your FAVORITE burgers for the BBQ!

Chris-
The Canivore sounds like a place for you!! I hope you had your fill of meat, and tried a couple of different kinds. I was going to cook steak on your first night back, but it seems that it might be a let down!! I'm sure being home will be great all by itself. Have a safe trip home, and we'll see you at LAX very soon
Love you lots, Mom and Dad

This message is for the whole team.
Hi Gang!
Well you're up in the air - "the mission trip is over" you say, but no, your mission is just beginning... I've been on my share of mission teams so I speak from experience when I say I know it's easier to witness in that kind of enviroment because it is understood by the people why you are there. It's harder to be a missionary at home surrounded by people who know you - peer pressure is alive and well, not only for you teenagers, but for us adults as well. God loved and honored what you did in Africa, but now He's anxiously waiting to see what you are going to do now that your home where He's placed you. What are you going to wear? What are you going to watch? What are you going to say? It's a daily struggle but a prayer we need to raise every morning "God I'm unequipped, but you can still use me for your glory today - I'm willing!" Journal what He does and share it with one another. Not as a "brag book", but as an encouragement. I'm gonna be on y'all about it and you be on me about it too! See you in "about" 23 hours.
